3 Tips To Get Started On Your New Year Diet Plans

3 Tips To Get Started On Your New Year Diet Plans No, your New Year diet doesnt have to look like that!  You can actually adopt and maintain a healthy diet and still enjoy eating.  It just takes being conscious in ways that support your diet. Im in an eternal state of dieting.  For as long as I can remember, Ive been very conscious of what and how much I eat.   Thats been tough to do at times, because I have an inner foodie that loves the taste of all kinds of plain and exotic fare.   Ive been able to keep control because Ive enrolled my foodie into the high ranking position of Chief Food Taste Judge In Charge.  Taste is one of three things to consider as you ponder yet another New Year diet. Taste Taste has always been high on my list.  Of all the foods we have put before us, a lot of them are good but certainly not great when it comes to taste. Start paying attention to not just what you like and dont like, but also ranking how much you like the taste of particular foods.  Eat less or none of those that arent your favorites, and more of the ones that are.  Within reason, of course! If a food has a lower ranking on your taste scale, limit or eliminate it from your menu.  For example, one of the most deadly things to eat when it comes to dieting is all those crunchy chips and snacks out there.  But if you really think about it, many if not most of them dont really taste all that good.  When that bowl of crackers comes within reach, remember its not your preferred taste and let it pass. If youre going to go on a formal diet plan or food plan, you may want to take a look at the recent study done by Next Advisor.  They taste-tested most of the major diet food providers out there, and came up with a list of those most (or least) tasty. Portion Control Whats on your plate is important.  But its not just about what the item is.  If youre going to be serious about losing a few pounds, youve got pay attention to how much youre eating. Its no secret that most restaurants serve up far too much food.  And too often weve adopted the restaurant vision of a meal into our daily food expectations. Whats the answer?  Portion control.  Ive found three helpful ways to combat the efforts of others to over-feed me.  Here they are: When dining out, order off the senior or kids menu.  They may not give you the senior or kids price, but youll get a more appropriately sized meal.  Alternatively, order a regular meal and share it. Eat off a salad plate instead of a dinner plate.  Yes the salad plate wont hold as much.  Thats the idea.  And no refills! Never eat directly out of a large container, such as a huge bowl of snacks, meatballs, or even veggies and dip.  Theres no way to tell how much youre eating if its not on a plate that you alone are going to devour. Drink Before Not With Your Meal Its so tempting to drink water, or other liquids, with a meal.  But from a diet standpoint, its not a good idea.  A 2015 study found that people who drink a glass or two of water prior to a meal lost more weight.  And most sources recommend you drink at least 20 minutes prior to eating. If youre one of those who just cannot seem to enjoy a meal without something to drink with it, drink a cup of warm tea.  A good ginger tea is perfect because it actually helps digestion. Make Your New Year Diet Plans And Start Today That swimsuit you have your eye on is waiting for you.  You already know what size you wear when youre at your best physical condition.  So go ahead and buy it now.  Hang it in your bathroom, near the scales.  And let it be your incentive to keep going on your new year diet! . Gender Equality, Equal Pay, and Work Life Balance

Gender Equality, Equal Pay, and Work Life Balance Equal Pay We have seen a lot of headlines in the news lately about the gender pay gap. It took a long time for this country to recognize gender equality when it came to voting rights, having careers, and just about anything else you can think of. However, if you think gender bias is a thing of the past, think again. We have found that many Fortune 500 companies have a pay disparity between women and their male counterparts. It doesn’t matter if you are doing the same job or not.   In some cases women might even have increased responsibilities over the higher paid male at their office. Gender Equality We are starting to see Silicon Valley start-ups get creative to equal out and dissipate this gap. They are offering additional perks to working mothers like additional paid time off after having a child. In some cases, they are even allowing for maternity leave in the year following the childs birth, so that you can spend more time with your children while they are young. Large companies like Netflix are leaving the window of time off open and up to you within the first year. In the spirit of gender equality we are seeing similar paternity offerings as well. These same companies are giving fathers similar time off that was once reserved for mothers only. Working women have long been viewed more harshly and with sharper criticism than men. The 1950’s mentality of barefoot and pregnant, spending long hours doing laundry, and cooking in the kitchen were ingrained into the minds of so many. These days women are becoming more independent, and being recognized positively for doing so. Work Life Balance Another area that society tended to frown upon was meeting men and women online.   Now, there are several sites for busy professional women to go on to find a significant other that matches their interested like Match, eHarmony, and Badults.   Working professionals of both genders can go online and with a few clicks of a button find eternal love, or a casual date every now and again. We all need to strive to further distance our society from the gender disparity it has long endured. Progressive thinking and less criticism will go a long way in doing so. Featured Image Source

How I Tackled Lifes Setbacks and Improved My Life - Classy Career Girl

How I Tackled Lifes Setbacks and Improved My Life Perhaps you already know all about yoga and Reiki. But have you ever heard of the combining the two for the power duo, Reiki Yoga? Most times when we are tackling life setbacks, whether its our career or personal life, we only focus on the physical, emotional, or mental level.   Incorporating Reiki and yoga in my approach to life and decision making strategies has not only drastically improved my life on the physical, emotional and mental level, but most importantly, it made all the difference on the  energetic level as well.   Lets start from the beginning. Throughout my 20s, I struggled with anxiety and depression. Life was an emotional roller coaster ride and looking back, life sure was colorful.   In 2013, I hit rock bottom again. Who says life gets better in your 30s? No way!   Sure, I was living a jet setter lifestyle where work paid for my living, a marble palaceone unit below the penthouse on a hotel. I had a personal driver and maid. All paid for.   The perks were endless when it came to living overseas. Many times, I even stayed at 5 start hotel penthouses of countries I traveled to.   Did you know there are 7 star hotels out there? I digress. Sounds like a nice life right?   I was miserable.   I cried myself to sleep countless nights. Then Id wake up after 2 hours of sleep to go into work with a smile on my face and continued on late into the evenings attending diplomatic functions. Sometimes, I forgot which country I was inand eventually, I lost sight of who I was too.   My job just didnt resonate with me any more. It wasnt just the work itself, there was the boss, the colleagues, the list goes on. I just hated everything about that glamorous career.   After 7 years I knew it was time to move on, but to what? Do I continue going through the motions, getting praise and promoted for what felt meaningless?   I felt suffocated. Suffocated is probably an understatement but there are no other words to describe how miserable I felt.   That was my professional life. I was even more miserable in my personal life. During the mist of my one-third life crisis, I ended a relationship with a guy that I thought I was going to marry. That probably hurt way more than ending my work contract a year early to return back to the US. Despite the fact that my personal and professional life was falling apart, I still managed to manifest milestone breakthroughs.   Within 24 hours of landing in the US, I bought my first condo and car. Just like that.   Landed at the airport, checked in to my hotel, walked across the street to the realtors office, got in her car, checked out the condo and within 20 minutes, I put down a solid offer. The next morning, I went to the dealership and bought my Prius after a 15 minute test drive. Almost 3 years later, still no buyers remorse. In fact, within a month of landing back in the US that day, I met Mr. Right. Still no buyers remorse on that one too! So whats my secret to tackling life setbacks? This is where Reiki and yoga come into play in my life. I was able to operate with so much clarity and tune into my intuition despite all the chaos and setbacks around me.   Life was in shambles but that didnt mean I had to stay at rock bottom for long. It was just clearing out the old so I could establish a more solid foundation. By incorporating Reiki and yoga in my lifestyle, I sharpened my intuitive skills to the point where I could make such milestone decisions with speed, confidence and clarity. The practice of Reiki and yoga go hand in hand as yoga increases the flow of Reiki energy in a person’s life. Where yoga may help us understand Reiki in a much deeper way, Reiki may help us understand the deeper energies of yoga. What is reiki yoga? Reiki Yoga is a practice based on the principle of activating your bodys natural healing process of the chakras to restore physical and emotional well-being. The technique is a combination of two ancient traditions, restorative Hatha yoga and Reiki, to bring about physical, mental, and spiritual wellness. Reiki yoga brings together gentle yoga postures with Reiki treatments offered by Reiki masters that use the imposition of their hands to support and boost the natural healing processes in the body. This combination supports the flow of the Prana, or Life Force, through removing blockages and imbalances. Interested in finding out more about Reiki yoga? Want to sharpen your ability to tap into your intuition when it comes to big and small life decisions? Let’s  chat  about how we can work together to master your intuitive skills! Unless you have a real problem, you are probably getting about the same number of interviews as the average job seeker. Stop focusing on how many and start focusing on getting the right ones. It only takes one. It has been a week since my interview. I must have done something wrong. Usually not the case. It may be true that you were not the best fit for that particular job. A decision that, once made, may actually be a positive for you. Maybe they saw the poor fit that you didnt! Happy At Work at IKEA - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog

Happy At Work at IKEA - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog I spotted this sign in the mens room of our local IKEA: For those (unfortunate few, Im sure) of you who dont read Danish, it says: I assume theres an exclusive restaurant for managers only? Erik Edelstein did not make it into IKEAs Management Potential Programme Heh! So if youre the kind of manager who believes it is your god-given right to eat your lunch in a special, exclusive restaurant seperate from the employees, then youre not going to manage at IKEA. Which makes excellent sense for three reasons: 1: Facetime is important for happiness at work Managers must spend time with their employees and lunch may be the best time for it! How else are managers going to know whats going on? And one thing that makes employees happy at work is a manager who has time for you and understands you. 2: Management applicants self-select When IKEA promote their management programme in this gutsy way they are making sure that they weed out applicants with the wrong attitudes from the very beginning. 3: It matches IKEAs brand It also speaks to me as a loyal IKEA customer and it blends perfectly with the principles of democracy and equality that their brand of cheap but well-designed furniture stand for. So: Management development, brand development and happiness at work all in one. Not bad, huh? Previously: BMW brand themselves againt bureaucracy. Im adding management-only restaurants to my list of vampire ideas. Thanks for visiting my blog. If you're new here, you should check out this list of my 10 most popular articles. Are you in the Lost Generation - Hallie Crawford

Are you in the Lost Generation This is a great article I would like to share with you. Part of the reason I like this article so much is because I can relate to it. Read this article here: Finding Your Dream Job from the Bathroom Floor I remember crying in mom’s kitchen and actually the bathroom at work (several times). I felt I was part of the “lost generation” in my 20’s. I didn’t know what I wanted to do and where I should go. I didn’t realize the first step I had to take; just like the lady in this article. I needed to figure out who I was and I what I wanted in the first place. After all my crying I gained some clarity in a workshop with a career coach, and I started getting back on track. But I had to go through that whole process to get where I am today. Many things have changed since then (i.e. technology, the economy slump.) One thing that doesnt change is the fact that you need to know yourself and know what you want before you will get anywhere.
